The development of the compact MT-Waste Transfer Station enables the buildings to be smaller, saving costs for both valuable land and the building. The advanced innovations in MetroTaifun® technology also reduce the necessary waste conveying airflow, sound- and odour level as well as the energy consumption to a third, enabling smaller equipment to be used.
Waste is conveyed via an underground pipe network from MT-Waste collection stations (inlets) to a central MT-Waste transfer station, where the waste is separated from the conveying air. The waste is automatically distributed to separate waste containers for each fraction. The spoiler front shape of the MT-Containers reduces the height in the waste transfer station when tilted. The fuel consumption is also reduced by 10% during truck transport.

MetroTaifun® has also an MT-Chute solution for restricted spaces below the building. The horizontal piping below chutes can be easily
extended horizontally to allow the waste to be conveyed to a collection container.
The horizontal pipe requires a booster unit to maintain the waste speed through the horizontal section of the pipe into the container. The system can be with or without a compactor.

MT-Litter bins (waste baskets) are waste inlets for indoor and outdoor use, which are self-emptying and which never overfill. The waste is conveyed by underground DN 300mm (12”) piping from the inlets to the waste transfer station. The operating system schedule for emptying times of the MT-litter bins is programmed according to the estimated demand. MT-Litter bins are suitable for all kind of open spaces such as gardens, parks, shopping centres, restaurant areas, hotels, business centres, offices, etc. The installation depth underground is only 1m (3½ft).
